Here's What I Would Have Spent at Topshop

This post is a partnership with other bloggers (check out their posts below), the purpose is to show what we would have spent at a given shop if they carried our size. I wanted to join this series because I think it's important to start showing brands that there is a big market beyond regular sizes and that they should embrace those. Today's shop is Topshop. I have to admit it is not a place I browse through often (they don't carry my size, so why would I?) but I have fallen in love with a few of their pieces. How gorgeous is that satin navy lingerie? I'm gutted that they don't have my size, I would have purchased it on the spot. So with the items I chose, what would I have spent? A painful value of 370€.

How about you, which things would you buy (Topshop or not) if they carried your size?

OUTFIT | Mint My World

I have a big emotional connection to all of my dresses, I love dresses, but this one has a special spot in my heart. I just love the colour, the fit, the little pockets in the front, the soft fabric...all of it is perfect for me. I love it so much that I'm very aware all day long of where I'm sitting, what I'm leaning against and what might possibly be touching this dress to make sure it won't get dirty or damaged. It was such a bargain at H&M (5€) a couple of years ago and I'm so happy I snatched it up in that shopping afternoon. The pictures were taken in a beautiful palace in Sintra just outside of Lisbon and I hope you enjoy it.

Dress: H&M (L)
Cardigan: H&M (XL)
Sandals: Ipanema

What's your favourite clothing piece?

New in | Primark & others

Hey hey

I bought a few things during my spring break that I wanted to show you before it goes out of stock and you can't get it anymore if you're interested.

You might have seen this in one of my wishlists a few weeks ago and I got it in a trip to Sephora. I love it, super pigmented, need to be careful with the blush though since it's shimmery. I got it in the colour Light.

Nothing exciting here, just an all-rounded good eye makeup remover. I don't wear that much eye make-up except for parties or special events, so I'm not the best person to advise you on eye make-up removers. I like this one, does its job, cheap and accessible.

Gorgeous, I am so in love with this kimono. I'm glad I found it. It's beautiful with the crochet details and it's so light weight, perfect for spring and summer.

Shoes from Primark

I thought these were adorable and they're actually really comfy.

The most comfortable sandals I've owned (this is my third pair), I love the cut and the fit of it.

Bag from a local shop

I pass by that shop everyday on my way to school and although I don't use a backpack on a daily basis I really wanted one for holidays or day trips. This one is adorable and came really handy on a few trips to the beach/hiking.

You've seen this lipstick on the spring tag post. I love the colour, it's pretty close to my natural lip colour except it's a tad darker. Lovely and super cheap. The colour is called "barely there".

Floral crown from Primark

I forgot to take a picture, you can check it out in my hello spring post. Don't think I can rock this at school but it's too darn cute.

Bikini bottom from Primark

I was looking for very simple bikini bottoms, black and high waisted. These ticked all the boxes and are super comfy.

Leggings from Primark

I do not recommend these leggings even though they're pretty cheap. I bought them to serve as tights since as leggings they're pretty sheer, the fabric is too thin so it's not flattering at all and the tummy part is longer than the back so they feel like pregnancy leggings.

What are you stocking up for summer?

Week 16 Weight loss journal

I'm back this week with my weight loss journal. I'm back to school now, no more spring break for me. Unfortunately. Now it's the final stretch until the end of the semester and exams so I'm a bit stressed. This week I also went to a hospital I'd like to do my internship in and gave them a presentation letter, I'm very anxious because I so want them to call me back and tell me I'm everything they've been looking for! Kidding, they won't say that, but one can dream.

Food

So what have I been eating? With the lack of motivation to cook, nothing too fancy. For breakfasts I have steered away from green smoothies a bit because I couldn't go to the supermarket and I ran out of fruit. So I've been having sandwiches with coffee or yogurt.

I've been making stir-frys with noodles, vegetables and minced meat. Grilled meat (usually chicken) with some salad and tomatoes on the side.

I also did something I love to eat: a mix of different things that I like and have around. This week I did it with some potato salad, a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, a boiled egg, lettuce salad and roasted red bell peppers. I just put everything on a plate and eat it like that. I really like it.

I made a vegetable rice, using carrot, green beans, peas and red bell peppers, and I've been eating that rice with salad and fish sticks (or fish fingers, not sure how you call it).

For one of the lunches I made pasta (the ones that look like screws, I don't know the name) with bits of ham, shredded carrots and mushrooms. I tossed everything with a mustard and honey dressing. It was quite good.

For dinner that day I made mushroom risotto, I just love mushroom risotto. As snacks I've been having bananas or sandwiches and plenty of water.

Exercise

I didn't have any formal exercise during spring break besides a lot of walking so getting started with it again was harder than I thought, lost a lot of motivation. But once I actually got up and did it I felt so good about myself. I feel very motivated now, it's crazy how good exercise makes me feel. Besides the muscle ache, that's not fun. I'm also trying to convince a friend to come with me to Zumba classes next week, hopefully she'll come with me.

Sintra Day Trip

To those of you who aren't Portuguese, Sintra means nothing. Sintra is a city close to Lisbon that is known for being absolutely beautiful (and the pastries too). It's home to many touristic attractions such as chalets, castles, a palace, beautiful churches and monasteries. It's absolutely stunning.

On the Easter week me and my boyfriend went to Sintra to spend the day and we took a lot of awesome pictures of the place that I wanted to share with you. If you ever come to Lisbon, please don't miss out on the opportunity to visit this gorgeous and scenic city.

The way there from Lisbon is pretty straight forward - just need to get on a train and leave in the last stop. I've been there multiple times before but the last time I was there was quite a few years ago so it was like seeing it for the first time. When we arrived to the little town of Sintra we were greeted by beautiful nature, there are so many hills in Sintra and the view is stunning, anywhere you look is picture worthy. Before starting our (very long!) climb to the Pena Palace we walked along the sidewalks where artisans stay all day selling their handcrafted items and had some regional pastries.

The climb to the palace is no easy feat. We chose to go by foot instead of taking a bus because we thought it would be a really great experience, but be warned that it is not easy and seems like it's a neverending uphill climb. That said, it was so worth it. The climb there is surrounded by nature, and if that's something you love then it won't feel like it's too much.

At some point during the way up we reached the gates to the Pena park, which is where you can buy the tickets to the palace and then continue your way up inside the park which is huge and has so much to see, much more than you can see in just one day. The park was packed with so many beautiful things that we didn't get the chance to see because we were running out of time, it's definitely a place to return to.

Seeing the palace getting close is quite the relief. When we finally reached the palace we just sat there for a while enjoying the view. Being that high up from sea level does give you quite the privileged view over the land. Inside the palace we were able to visit several rooms, more than I remembered, such as the king and queen's chambers, the bathrooms, the kitchen/pantry, halls, and so many others.

When we got to the bottom of the hill again we had some dinner and then caught our train back to Lisbon, tired but oh so delighted for the day trip.
