Invisibobble Review - should you buy it?

Recently I bought a little box of invisibobble hair rings, I believe this is their winter collection in the colour Winter Punch. Each box costs 4€ and comes with 3 hair rings. You can get it at amazon, ebay, boots and a lot of other places. I'm not writing this review based on this box I bought this week, I have been using invisibobble for over a year, on and off.

Invisibobble isn't a new brand, it has been around for a while, but I feel like a lot of people haven't tried it yet so I'd like to to voice my opinion on whether or not it's worth the investment. Let me start by saying that if you don't know what it is, it's a brand that makes spiral hair ties that are supposed to not leave a trace on your hair (you know when your hair gets a  hair tie mark?! Ugh) and not tug on your hair.

I do tend to get a lot of hair tie marks on my hair with conventional hair ties which isn't very appealing since when I want to wear my hair down I have a very clear mark around my hair. With the invisibobble hair ties it doesn't happen at all, unless I put my hair in a ponytail while it's still wet and let it dry like that, but that's normal. When it comes to the no-tugging promise, I'm not completely satisfied. Do bear in mind that it tugs a lot less than normal hair ties, but it's not completely tug-free. This might be because my hair is very thin and on top of that it's layered, which makes it so that the hair tie doesn't have the same grip on all the hair so it tugs on the shorter, layered ones from my hairline.

But the tugging doesn't bother me that much, it isn't very dramatic. There is a bigger problem I have with the brand. The hair ties are tiny and thin, which makes them very fragile. It has happened more than once that after a couple of weeks they break in the little place where both ends were glued together. Now I wouldn't mind this at all if they cost 50 cents each, but at 4€ a box it's quite an investment to have to replace them after a few weeks or a month if they break.

All in all, I don't feel like it's 100% a worthy investment, since it's not that amazing when compared to other cheaper alternatives - I have a knock-off that I bought for 30 cents and although less delicate and aesthetically appealing it does it's job very well for a fraction of the price.

That said, I do get very excited with their collection launches and if there's a colour I really like, I buy a little box. I believe that's the biggest appeal with Invisibobble, their cute and delicate hair ties as opposed to how better they are when compared to other less expensive options.

If you want cute adorable hair ties that come in a huge variety of colours to choose from your money is well spent. If you're in it just for the promises the brand makes (traceless, no tugging) I would recommend not getting it because then you can pay less for a knockoff and get the same results.

Comprei uma pequena caixa dos elásticos invisibobble da colecção de Inverno na cor Winter Punch - um bordeaux muito bonito. Cada caixa traz 3 elásticos, custa 4€ e vende-se em farmácias e parafarmácias (também podem encontrar online). Não estou a escrever esta review apenas na minha utilização desta caixa, já uso invisibobble há mais de um ano e tenho uma opinião formada sobre o artigo.

Não é uma marca novidade, certamente já ouviram falar ou já viram os elásticos à venda na farmácia ou a Wells, mas eu tenho reparado que ainda há muita gente que procura reviews e por isso decidi dar também a minha opinião tendo em base a minha experiência. Para quem não sabe o que é, são uns elásticos em forma de espiral feitos de plástico que prometem segurar bem o cabelo sem repuxar ou deixar marcas.

Tendo o cabelo liso e fininho sofro bastante com os elásticos convencionais pois fico cheia de marcas (durmo de rabo de cavalo) e sinto os elásticos a repuxar alguns cabelos o que dói. Quanto ao facto de não deixar marcas estou medianamente satisfeita, umas vezes fico com marcas e noutras não. Quanto à promessa de não repuxar a história é a mesma. Quando comecei a usar invisibobble notei que fico muito mais confortável pois repuxa menos, mas não é 100% eficaz a esse nível. Pode não ser culpa do artigo, de facto tenho o cabelo bastante fininho e escadeado o que pode fazer com que o elástico não consiga agarrar os cabelos mais curtos com o mesmo controlo que no resto do cabelo.

Para além do que já foi dito, existe outra coisa que me incomoda com estes elásticos: são muito frágeis. São pequenos e fininhos e já me aconteceu mais do que uma vez partirem-se ao fim de uma semana ou duas de uso (na zona onde as duas extremidades estão coladas). Isso não seria um problema se estes elásticos não custassem quase 4€ o que, para elásticos de cabelo, é bastante caro. É um grande investimento ter de substituílos se um deles (ou dois deles como já me aconteceu) se partem na mesma caixa.

Fico muito entusiasmada com as novas colecções da invisibobble e quanto existe um lançamento com uma cor que goste muito compro uma caixa. Acredito que seja este o maior valor da invisibobble - elásticos bonitos, com um ar delicado. Se for este o motivo pelo qual querem um elástico, recomendo. Se for pelo desempenho (não deixar marcas e não repuxar) não acho que seja um bom investimento pois faz um trabalho medíocre em ambas as promessas que faz. Para um trabalho medíocre podem ir a uma loja dos chineses e comprar versões mais baratas a 0.30€ que fazem o mesmo trabalho (tenho vários e nunca se partiram). Não são esteticamente tão agradáveis nem vêm em todas as cores da moda mas fazem o mesmo trabalho.

My bad shopping experience: Aliexpress review

Around two months ago I made an order on the site Aliexpress, which is a market where several sellers can sell their products. Long story short: I ordered 4 items and they're all a disappointment. If you want the long version stick around because you're about to get it.

First I ordered this beautiful piece of lingerie and it's just as sexy in person as it is in the pictures. The problem is that from the measurements described on the website the lingerie should fit me but it is far from fitting me which makes me think the measurements on the website are a lie. I'm very disappointed that sellers would do something like that just to make it sell more. Update: I checked the item again on the website, now besides the XXL they also added bigger sizes to it going to a 5XL. Besides it going to a size 5XL it mentions below that the sizing system is only ONE SIZE, so I'm a bit confused as to why they'd mention all the sizes if it's one size... 

Second, I ordered yet another piece of lingerie. This one fits, but the problem I have with it is that it's not the same as in the pictures. It's quite similar, but it feels like it's a replica of the lingerie they show on the pictures. It's quite a lot longer than the one from the picture and also looks less delicate and poorly manufactured.

The next item I bought was a memory card for my phone, 8GB. I received it, tried it on my phone and was quite excited that it actually worked given the disappointments so far with this order. Two days after having the memory card on my phone I got a notification saying the memory card was damaged and I needed to insert another memory card. To be sure it wasn't the phone acting out I tried reading the memory card with my laptop which also didn't work so I'm certain the memory card was sent to me already in poor conditions.

The fourth and last item, thankfully, is the top you can see below. As you can see in the first picture it was completely unwearable. When they sew the crochet pattern they must have made a big mistake because the pattern wasn't even centered, it was drifting to the side and it's quite obvious also. In hopes of saving at least something from this dreadful order at Aliexpress, I decided to resew the crochet pattern in the correct position which turned out okay, at least now I can wear it.

I must say that Aliexpress does have a buyer protection policy, where you can complain about a purchase if you're unhappy with it, but since I was on vacation and wasn't here to collect the orders and open to make sure everything was okay, the buyer protection option expired. Still, in 4 items there's not one that I can say I'm happy with, and I'm not even very picky with these things. I'm extremely disappointed with the service and what I've received, and even more so because I contacted the sellers and none of them has replied with even an apology. I would not recommend purchasing in this shop, Probably not all the sellers on the site are dishonest but at least don't make purchases on the ones I linked. Don't be scammed the way I was.

Há cerca de dois meses atrás fiz uma encomenda no site Aliexpress que é uma espécie de mercado onde vários vendedores podem vender os seus artigos. Versão curta da história: estou muito desiludida, comprei 4 artigos e nenhum deles está em condições. Se quiserem a versão longa continuem a ler.

O primeiro artigo que encomendei, e a razão pela qual decidi fazer a encomenda, foi esta lingerie de que gostei muito e penso que é uma réplica de uma colecção que a Beyoncé desenhou, ou ela usou-a num concerto, não sei bem. É tão sexy ao vivo quanto nas fotografias do site mas o problema (gravíssimo) é que as medidas do site devem estar aldrabadas só para fazer as pessoas comprarem. De acordo com as medidas que estão no site para o tamanho XXL, esta lingerie deveria servir-me. O que é facto é que não me serve nem de perto nem de longe, e está bem que eu engordei 2 kg no mês passado mas a discrepância entre as medidas reais e as medidas do site são enormes.

O segundo artigo que comprei foi também lingerie. Esta serve, até é bastante grande, mas o problema é que não é exactamente a mesma das fotografias. É muito semelhante mas estou quase certa de que é apenas uma réplica da original que meteram na fotografia (que devem ter retirado de outro site) e em vez de tirarem fotografias à peça que realmente estão a vender utilizam a original, certamente mais bonita e cuidada. O que me chegou às mãos é muito mais comprido do que o que a modelo está a usar na fotografia (fica-me abaixo do joelho, quando na modelo fica pela cintura) e tem um ar menos delicado.

Depois destes dois artigos já estava danada e calejada, não esperava que o terceiro funcionasse. E por acaso funcionou. Durante dois dias. Estava eu contente da vida com um cartão de memória de 8gb para o telemóvel, de facto o telemóvel estava a dar uns problemas com o cartão de memória e não me deixava utilizá-lo para guardar ficheiros mas achei que era só implicância e que não o tinha metido no telemóvel correctamente. Ao fim de dois dias de ter o cartão de memória recebo uma notificação no telemóvel a dizer que o cartão está danificado e preciso de inserir outro. Para tirar a teima de que era o telemóvel a querer ser irritante experimentei ler o cartão no computador, o que também não funcionou. Certamente o cartão já me foi enviado danificado ou pelo menos em pobres condições.

O último artigo é o top que vêem na fotografia. Como é possível que ao coserem o padrão em crochet não tenham reparado que estava completamente torto em vez de estar centrado no peito? Há coisas que me ultrapassam. Para tentar salvar alguma coisa desta encomenda que eu possa de facto usar descosi o crochet do top e cosi-o no local certo, o que deu uma trabalheira. Enfim, pelo menos agora posso usá-lo.

Tenho a dizer que o site dispõe de uma política de protecção ao cliente, política essa que só funciona durante um tempo limitado e como eu não estava em Lisboa para abrir as encomendas e ver se estava tudo bem, a protecção expirou. Mesmo assim, de 4 artigos que encomendei nenhum se aproveita e parece não existir qualquer controlo de qualidade nesta loja. Podem alegar que foi falta de sorte, e acredito que sim, que existam vendedores nesta loja que sejam honestos, mas a comprar lá não me apanham mais e não recomendo de todo que o façam. Estou muito desiludida com o serviço que recebi e com a falta de resposta por parte dos vendedores que ignoraram a mensagem que enviei a reclamar. Um vendedor honesto não ignora os seus clientes, tenta remediar a situação.
